Replaced my midrange domes, $50 each, not rubbish.
Still hear distortion on music. Even straight from CDs.
MP3s encoded at 128KHz dont sound much worse.
Just noticed this, really dont know how long its being going on.
Middle age is not supposed to make one more aurally sensitive.
In the early 70s I had the good fortune to hear AR3a speakers and JBL 12" speakers playing LPs with good cartridges. Rich medical student friends. Lots of noise, of course, hiss, clicks, but no distortion.
We used to listen to a lot of what would now be called Rock Ballads.
Stevie Wonder, Dr John, Leon Russell, and Joni Mitchell.
the AR3a were 48 litres, designed by Allison. My current speakers are 95 litres, but not 'acoustic suspension' and not super quality. But not the source of the distortion I believe. Youth today have abandoned the idea of Hi-Fi. Bring on the super CDs I say.
Cardinal Pell bans Christ
Dr Carol Christ, who challenges the patriarchal image of God, was to have given a lecture at Santa Sabina College in Strathfield on Saturday.
Dr Christ has taught at Harvard Divinity School, Columbia University..and directs the Ariadne Institute for the Study of Myth and Ritual in Oregon, which offers pilgrimages to Greece and Crete celebrating goddess worship.
..Auxiliary Bishop..Julian Porteous..
"Following an inquiry from myself on behalf of the Archdiocese, the Dominican Sisters decided it would be inappropriate for a talk promoting goddess worship and pagan spiritualities ..to be held in a Catholic venue," ..
we love you Michael
