ants, ann, spratleys

The shower floor was covered with wings this morning
Some still had ants attached.
What happened to most of the bodies?
A huntsman maybe
I've never seen a skink in the bathroom.
The sole spider asleep fang-deep in an aviator
dazed after a night of gluttony.
I wish I could persuade more spiders into my bathroom
It takes years & I think huntsmen must be clearing out
new settlers.
Maybe I should stick a dozen matchboxes in the corners
so daddy-long-legs would have migrant hostels

Flying ants are an occasional Sydney concupiscent delight
Startling if encountered whilst bicycling.
I dont know why they swarmed on a 3/4 moon


Sister-in-Law Ann is due to sprog in February
I look forward to living in a household with
pregnancies & children
After New South Wales
with black clad childless women grimly off to the office
each railyard morning.
