And all the while, it has constantly angled for new ways to exploit the sense of crisis for partisan gain and political dominance. How dare they!

I inspected this facility in June of 1996. We were looking for weapons of mass destruction (WMD). While I found no evidence of WMD, I did find an organization that specialized in the construction and employment of "improvised explosive devices" - the same IEDs that are now killing Americans daily in Iraq.

The sad irony is that American men and women are dying in Iraq to protect a 60-year-old economic idea that is failing 80 percent of Americans and threatening our shores with terrorism..addressing the problem will lead to an enormous domestic economic boom and transform the conditions that perpetuate poverty and humiliation abroad
