Mohammed Adow said that local commanders have already begun taking over parts of the city.
.."It looks now that the government has on its hands a very difficult task in pacifying Mogadishu ... It looks like Ethiopian troops will be here for some time to come".

the NYT puts it:
"a crushing counter-attack by the Ethiopians"
Which is a mealy mouthed defense of an illegal invasion across national borders.
This is not a 'counter-attack' it's an attack.
Ethiopia is a USA favourite, no prizes for guessing how bad are its human-rights.
Ethiopia was the main agent in drawing up the current 'government' of Somalia, so I guess they dont want to see their choices fail.

Each bus burns about 12 gallons of fuel during its trip. That same bus passes about 250 buildings burning in excess of 500 gallons of sulfur-rich, heavy number six heating oil a day (this oil is one step removed from the material used to reseal an asphalt driveway.)

Energy subsidies, hostility to foreign investment, and inefficiencies of its state-planned economy underlie Iran’s problem, which has no relation to ‘‘peak oil.’’
