Joan has left Mazar safely, Alhamdu lillah, but is still in Afghanistan, somewhere remote, I await the day when she safely leaves the place altogether. Cant be many tourists at the Blue Mosque today..

"STOCKHOLM - One of four Swedish NATO peacekeepers wounded in a bomb explosion in Afghanistan has died of his injuries, the Swedish military said late on Friday."
The four Swedish troops, two of whom were said to be seriously injured in Friday’s explosion in Mazar-i-Sharif, were from the NATO-led ISAF, which was set up in 2001, and were part of a British provincial reconstruction team.

"One British peacekeeper was killed and several ISAF soldiers hurt when gunmen fired on their vehicle inside Mazar city last month."
