Disgusting things, cont... BedBugs Boils
BedBugs and other Disgusting things
I'm glad that the ChaingMai six mystery deaths are not now thought to be chlorpyrifos.
ChaingMai would be about my favourite town on Earth, and I'm not sorry that tourists may be discouraged.
Since the boom (the bridge over the MaeKong?) the ring road has been barely passible on foot.
I've never had a moments discomfort from any market food in Thailand. The culture apparently knows how to preserve food.
I guess any culture can be overloaded. They dont get 'burgers' tho, so stick to laab.
I've never encounterd bedbugs in any SEAsia hotel. We did get them in my house in Silang.
I was approached by an old vendor in the market who recognised the big wheal on my arm and proceeded to rub in some unguent. I suspect it may have been based on kerosene, as is many a 'traditional' remedy.
Anyway the bugs dont walk far, so silicone-filler on the iron bedstead and gaps in the bedroom wall, together with a new matress stopped the nighttime bites.
There is no hope for the padded sofa & chairs - an unusual luxury in the barrio. Just throw them out.
I understand why Edith Bunker kept the plastic on the couch.
The many large stuffed animals (we are in the RP!) remain suspect, but I think it was the 'lounge suite' that was BBHQ.
Boils:
hit them with 660nm light - red LEDs, a Stop Light if you can get one, or just a clear 60 Watt bulb in a table-lamp
add a bit of Marigold ointment and your mitochondria metal complexes will hum into action, wounds will heal in a flash.
