OK the Ampatuan clan is a 'Muslim' clan , which makes sense in the ARMM (autonomous region Muslim Mindanao)
I guess Mangudadatu clan is Muslim also... the press here seems reluctant to mention it [paralysed with fear?]
The poor read no newspapers, and dont distinguish between Gangsters, Police,Political, and Random violence...
I salvaged the remnants of my copy of "Pedagogy of the Oppressed" which the kids have been using as scrap paper... how quaint and wonderful the 70s cultural rev seems now
