Peak Oil, Climate Chaos and Tourism
I wonder whats going to be the effect of hugely expensive kero (jet fuel) on Tourism?
Although Climate Chaos (or as GB has it "Global Warming" ) is now in the public's eye, I dont think that 'awareness' will kill tourism.
Peak Oil is not in the public eye. It will arrive much sooner, and cause such recessions, and retreat into selfishness.
Climate Chaos is looking almost benign until 30 or 50 years out. When crop disruption, The pachyderm in the parlour, will kill most of the population. What greed and selfishness then?

But Peak Oil possibly may cut Tourism hugely, and sooner.

New Zealand's largest Forex Earner. So Many countries have tourism up there in their top 5 forex earners.

What about all those ecotourism projects to save wildlife all over the world? When the tourists cease, what then for Mountain Gorillas?

Dean was prettier than Robert Plant in 72, way cool, I wasn't cool, except that I was cicisbeo to some of the best girls, so I was grudgingly admitted to Freeman's bay, Herne Bay & Grey Lyn parties. How vital that seemed. Dean Parker is still a playwright, John Minto is still the conscience of the nation (paired with Red Squad Ross Meurant, an unpredictable fork). (confession: I dont think Dean's paintings are that grand. He has recently climbed Aspiring, however, which is not to be sneezed at)
