Whale sharks ..appear at Gladden Spit in April and May, when large aggregations of cubera snappers spawn.
As fertilized eggs float to the surface in patches like small oil slicks, the whale sharks loll about with
wide open mouths, inhaling their meals. Dr. Will Heyman..working in
Belize ..for 10 years, counted 25 whale sharks at one point in an area
150 feet in diameter...
Whale shark also turn up in April near Donsol, Sorsogon RP,
Also "March & April" in Ningaloo in WA
seems like they all live for that April fling

ZIPLESS COUP ..the Governing Council declared it was unanimously backing Allawi,
one of its own, for the post of interim Iraqi prime minister.
Not that the Council is charged with that decision;
that brief lies with U.N. envoy Lakhdar Brahimi
..right after the Council resolved to back Allawi,
L. Paul Bremer burst in the room to offer U.S. support. ..
.. the U.N. essentially conceded the move, and pledged to work with the
new prime minister-designate"
[nb NOT "prime minister-elect" as the AusABC miss-spoke]
...
Allawi's networks supplied 10 Downing Street with the discredited claim that Saddam
could deploy his WMD in 45 minutes. After the war, he peddled the absurd story that
Palestinian terrorist Abu Nidal mentored 9/11 hijacker Mohamed Atta at the behest of
Saddam...."

28May04 Sistani brought peace to Najaf on his terms, and not the U.S.'s. Not a bad position to be in.
..a poll released this week by the Iraq CRSS.. 68%..
across seven Iraqi provinces support Sadr... U.S. battles with Sadr have elevated him to
"a national hero, even in Sunni areas."

Hours after a deal was struck, armed Mahdi army forces are back in Najaf..
By Phillip Robertson
..the day after a peace agreement with the U.S. forces was
announced, armed Mahdi army fighters were occupying all their usual posts.
The men had retrieved their rifles and grenade launchers..and were carefully watching
people move through the city, asking visiting foreigners for their documents.
Failure to produce the correct document can lead to immediate arrest.
